A new report from the Pew Research Center says that the number of illegal aliens in the country currently outnumber unemployed Americans.
The Washington Free Beacon has the details:
The number of illegal immigrants in the United States totaled 11.3 million in 2014, outnumbering the 9.6 million Americans who were unemployed in the same year, according to data from Pew Research Center and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
An estimated 11.3 million unauthorized immigrants lived in the U.S. in 2014, says a Pew report. The new unauthorized immigrant total includes people who cross the border illegally as well as those who arrive with legal visas and remain in the U.S. after their visas expire.
Of those 11.3 illegal immigrants, 8.1 million are participating in the labor force. Unauthorized immigrants make up 5.1% of the U.S. labor force, Pew says. In the U.S. labor force, there were 8.1 million unauthorized immigrants either working or looking for work in 2012.
Firstly, unauthorized immigrants? Why the politically correct language, Pew? Illegal aliens is the correct term, even if it's politically incorrect.
A couple of other things to note about this report. Like the U3 unemployment number, this report doesn't take into account the 92 million Americans that have dropped out of the workforce. Some have dropped out due to retirement- we do have an aging population- and others have dropped out because they've given up looking for work. So in that sense, the number of illegals in the country doesn't necessarily outnumber unemployed Americans.
But it should also be noted that the 11 million illegals number should also be taken with a grain of salt, as that number has remained static for over a decade. It is more likely that that number is closer to 30 million. That still doesn't quite outnumber the Americans that have dropped out of the workforce, but it is still a sizable number to compete with the number of Americans out of the workforce.
But the most important takeaway from this report is that the number of Americans searching for jobs is less than the number of illegal aliens in this country. That's a problem, given that employers are more likely to turn to illegals for cheap labor, which not only crowds out jobs for American workers but also lowers wages for workers due to the increased supply.
This is the sign of a country in decline.
But the common denominator is unemployment, right?
Most likely unemployment is the common denominator. I’ll be celebrating if we get a President who will deport the parasites.
I’ve never understood how so many people say that illegal aliens “are doing jobs Americans aren’t doing”. And thus that means we need illegal aliens.
I understand that many such jobs done by illegals, such as farm work, janitorial and housekeeping, landscaping and lawn care, are physical jobs. And such jobs are not exactly leading one on a yuppie career path to an executive position in a major corporation.
But they are also jobs which unskilled unemployed ghetto youth, and others who never got an education, or chose not to get an education or job training, could be doing.
The question is why are so many Americans not willing to do these jobs. I understand that they are physical jobs and don’t pay very well. But instead of working at such jobs, too many just don’t work at all, and draw on public assistance programs instead for their survival.
Why did this happen in our society? Can it be changed?
People like Hillary say that black youth in places like Baltimore “cannot find a job”. What she really means is not that the “cannot find a job”, but that they choose not to look for or accept jobs such as I’ve noted here.
America should “thanks” the lying GOP which
was ONLY elected in the last election to stop this.
Instead, new incurable diseases have been brought
in by Quartering as the GOP lies and the GOP continues
to coverup both the Benghazi and IRS atrocities,
the “Issa way”.
illegal aliens in the country currently outnumber unemployed Americans

Illegal Aliens, aren’t they what they make movies out of with the UFO’s???? They were thought to have landed a spacecraft in Nevada in the 1940’s?????
Oh I see, someone just told me that the ‘illegal aliens’ in this story was meant to be ‘illegal immigrants’....big, big, difference there.....
I think we would love to see an ‘illegal alien’ after all the ‘tin hat’ people and Hollywood producers have instilled in our minds about them...
‘illegal immigrants’ are a dime a dozen on every street corner and only because Obama has made it that way....
Americans used to do those jobs. Some did them as young people, just to start out or to earn money for college. It taught them responsibility and a work ethic. There’s no shame in any kind of honest labor. We need to get rid of the illegals and get the welfare leeches working.
Wouldn’t this be true even if there were, say, two unemployed American citizens?
When the illegals become legal, we will need another 11 million illegals to take their place. (more like 30 million)
I would also add that some other categories, such as fast food, are not being done as much by American born young people any longer.
At least in my area, anecdotal evidence of fast food workers is that most of them were not born in this country. I can’t speak to anyone’s immigration status, but, just noting, they are not locally born and raised young people working in many fast food outlets.
Black unemployment is a very real problem. Among black youths, uneployment is at 50% in many places. And a prime reason is illegal immigration. A liberal democrat position. Even a position favored by the racist rev's; Al and Jesse.
How and why blacks subjugate themselves to a lower economic status less than illegals is just beyond me. But they do. Ahh, such is life on the plantation.
Welfare programs discourage work, and illegals work cheap and often off the books.
A lot of people get upset if illegals are referred to as immigrants. No pleasing everybody. I don’t care what they are called as long as they are deported.
I believe if we deport illegals and tell the folks on Welfare, here’s a job for you, do it or no check, we could straighten things out a bit.
We do have a huge problem with the unemployed American citizens, which is many simply do not want to work and are very happy getting whatever freebies they can off those that do.
Nonetheless, the illegals must go, as they are Mexico’s problem, not ours. Same with us, the lazy a$$ed here are our problem.
Maybe we should reverse the game and send our homegrown leaches to Mexico!
We also need to reduce legal immigration. Since 1990 30 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS have entered the US. They are competing for jobs against Americans. Why are we bringing in 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants a year, 20% of whom lack even a high school diploma? Legal immigration is a bigger problem than illegal aliens.
The truth is that illegals work cheap and off the books....then draw welfare on their American born children.
A twofer.
An estimated 11.3 million unauthorized immigrants lived in the U.S. in 2014, says a Pew report.
Triple or quadruple that figure and you’re getting close.
Like so many things, this is one lie they just can’t stop telling.
