This whole region around Pittsburgh is heavily Democrat mostly because of the unions which have a stranglehold over politics here. There are Republicans, but the few who do run for office get little or no support. And the few Republicans who do run for office and win have to be RINOs or they would be run out of town on a rail. In most local elections, it's like the old Soviet Union — only one party and the candidate gets 100% of the vote,

Pittsburgh could be a wonderful city. The downtown is undergoing some major renewal, and it's really shaping up nicely. But crime is all over. I used to work downtown, but now that I'm retired, I avoid the city like the plague. It's not worth the risk of being mugged or shot. And the Democrats who control the town just don't get it.

Agree 100%. I live here and work in Lawrenceville. We do venture to downtown for dinner, bike rides etc. but I don’t leave the house without my weapon

Such a shame.
