Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension for his role in using underinflated footballs during the AFC Championship Game was upheld by commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday.
In making the announcement, Goodell cited new evidence that Brady willfully obstructed the investigation by destroying his phone on or about June 23, the day of the appeals hearing between Brady and investigators.
Based on Ted Wells' report and the evidence presented at that hearing, Goodell concluded in his decision that Brady was aware of, and took steps to support, the actions of other team employees to deflate game footballs below the levels called for by NFL rules. ...

Hillary does the same and worse and she gets to run for President.
Brady thinks he’s bigger than the game. Goddell just told him where he stands.
Guess that took the wind out of his day today. :)
AH - HA - HA - HA - HA - HA!
Cheaterchik and Brady. Birds of a feather flock together! LOL
Shouldn’t have gone all Lindsey Graham on his phone...
Tom’s going to sue, and win. He also doesn’t feel he did anything wrong. And with the recent NFL rule changes it would appear the NFL isn’t entirely convinced he did either. But they still want to suspend him. Well they want to LOOK like they want to suspend him. But if it goes to court everybody knows they’ll lose, but Goodell can still look tough.
Tom’s still a young man, plenty of time to run for President later.
The four game suspension is the easiest for the NFL to LOSE! Brady starts game one.
I bet he doesn’t even sue. He knows he’s guilty as all hell, and won’t want to open himself and everyone else in the organization up to full discovery.
He will win in Federal court and hopefully Goodell will be fired.
What a waste of a commissioner. The new rules installed last week dealing with footballs should have been the end of the story.
Did the phone belong to the NFL?
I read the report. The evidence is shoddy. Their method of checking pressure for the games is shoddy. Even the Colts had an underinflated ball by their standards.
He will win in Federal court and hopefully Goodell will be fired.
What a waste of a commissioner.
...
I hope you’re right. Brady was railroaded.
Of course he’ll sue. He doesn’t want to miss any games. That’s what all this “negotiation” was about, the league was willing to reduce and didn’t want it to be zero. Tom feels he did nothing wrong and is unwilling to miss a game. And he’ll win in court. The league has zero proof. And when Tom’s lawyers ask the NFL what the expected normal level of deflation is for half a game of football and the league’s answer is “we have no idea” the case will be over and the suspension will be tossed.
D’mn, you are quick.
Goodell won’t be fired. The money keeps piling in. He certainly handled this situation poorly, the “sting” was just stupid, they should have put these rules in place last year and been done with it. But as long as the revenue keeps going up the owners don’t care. And honestly this plays well for him in the long run. He gets to be tough on The Golden Boy, who’s white unlike most of the other players he suspends, AND he gets to not have Brady suspended for any games, AND he gets to have his power look weakened without actually being weakened.
Good-ell day for real sports fans.
Ok so all of you that think Brady was railroaded , you must all support hillary erasing emails as well? I don’t think the outcome of game would have changed, but you can’t try to tell me Brady didn’t know what was going on with the balls. He is a perfectionist, he knew exactly what was going on with those footballs.
If you bribe a juror to vote not guilty, but in the end 5 others voted not guilty as well, does that mean you didn’t commit a crime since the jury would have been hung anyhow?
