Mr. Megan was in the Corps and there was an Apache kid who was a recruit with him who wasn’t scared of anything and he never flinched when he got yelled at. A DI tried to provoke him once and he very quietly said to the DI, “You don’t scare me. A wise man would ask himself why not.”
After that the Apache boy was left alone.
No doubt a true story.
Since the lesson is “Focus and Overcome” (and that would be my nomination for the caption) the DI’s probably believed the Apache recruit had it down pat.
