Is the debate about marriage over after the Supreme Court’s June decision to redefine marriage in all fifty states? That’s what some Amazon.com reviewers are insisting after a new book was released last week.
The book, “Truth Overruled: The Future of Marriage and Religious Freedom,” is a roadmap from Ryan Anderson, a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, on how the conservative movement can move forward in promoting marriage and protecting religious freedom after the Supreme Court’s ruling.
“I wrote this book for all Americans. For those who disagree with me, to at least understand the viewpoint of roughly half the nation,” Anderson told The Daily Signal. “For those who agree, to better understand the nature of the debate and the reasons supporting the truth. For those undecided, to get one thoughtful take on what the future should hold.”
As of Saturday, Anderson’s book has received over 120 reviews. It average rank is 3.4 of 5 stars with 40 percent of reviewers leaving a 1 star rating.
How’d this come about? Opponents worked social media outlets to orchestrate a campaign of negative reviews of Anderson’s book, often attacking the author personally.
As of Sunday, only one of the 49 one-star reviews was a “verified purchase” reviews, which gives potential customers authenticity that the reviewer has purchased the material. By contrast, 35 of the 76 5-star reviews are from verified purchasers. Several of the 1-star reviews insist the “debate is over” and that Anderson’s claims are “a deadly defense of dying worldview.”
A Twitter user known as Str8Grandmother, a LGBT activist, urged her followers to leave “HONEST” reviews.

The left does the same thing to Rush’s books and O’reilly’s. They get on their and cast their vote then they tell their friends to vote even though they have never read the books!!
Why? They're already ALL limited solely to corporations. The real problem is getting anyone to grasp exactly what that means. Good luck.
negative reviews are not a negative for this reader since they make me curious enough to want to read that book.
A smart author would use such reviews to his/her advantage!

It makes them sound like trash.
Their actions are leaving little doubt they speak a truth.

Just placed my order for a copy. Anytime something as shady as negative reviews on a books which had not been purchased by the reviewer happens, you know it is the same group where 12 people on twitter can generate a comment claiming thousands of posters. Issues are corrupted by people like that and I cannot wait to read this book. It must be full of fact and wisdom.

Back when I went to movies occasionally I would pick the one to see by who gave it the bad reviews.

I go home every deer season to a small town in Nebraska. Some time ago, HUD decided to import a bunch of welfare people to the town in order to help them.
It destroyed the town. Friends and family will drive the 30 miles to a larger town, and my hometown now has a major drug and abuse problem.
I have seen that in every place I have lived. Rather than fix the issues, we are spreading the infection.
It has. There are tags that say “Verified purchase”, and there have been many lawsuits against people who make fake reviews.
It drives the left nuts that Bezos is trying to protect the rating system.
When I read a book review on Amazon, and it’s a personal attack, I automatically assume the person writing holds a political viewpoint in opposition to the author.

That doesn’t mean it HAS to be limited to that.
Pass bills contravening the courts on issues where they exceeded their jurisdiction, then take away their jurisdiction.
