Not to get into a religious debate, because I believe in God, and am a Christian, but when the Bible was written, we still thought the earth was flat, and that the Sun revolved around the earth.
You obviously haven’t read God’s word.
He is relating the level of scientific knowledge at the time....not that other possibilties dont exist.
