As Townsend Whelen, former U.S. Army colonel and American Rifleman contributor, was once famously quoted as saying, Only accurate rifles are interesting. Employing that rubric alone, the Ruger Precision Rifle is a supremely interesting firearm. And, to the companys credit, the introduction of additional evaluation criteria such as versatility, reliability and value only make its newest bolt-action repeater all the more intriguing. Featuring sub-minute-of-angle accuracy, the dependability of a bolt gun built on the gunmakers proven American action, all the modularity of the über-customizable AR-15 platform, the ability to accept a multitude of magazine types and a price tag that is a literal fraction of many of the guns it will compete against on the market, Rugers latest foray into the long-range precision shooting field should pique the interest of a broad range of gun aficionados.
Sturm, Ruger & Co. believes that within the gun world there exists a sizeable segment of shooters who are interested in long-range precision shootingthey just have never been able to justify taking the plunge due to the typically astronomical cost of purchasing a gun designed expressly for that purpose. With an MSRP of $1,399and a likely eventual selling price closer to $1,100the Precision Rifle represents Rugers invitation for these cost-conscious gun buyers to finally enter the world of long-range shooting.

BTW, when I say inexpensive...I mean comparatively. It’s still out of my price range, but I may start saving for one.
Has the ammunition been banned or all purchased by the regime yet?
If you reload, no.
The 6.5 Creedmoore would be a good choice. Kind of heavy though. Might want to put a muzzle brake on it.
Any info on which calibers are available?
It comes in .308 Win. with a 20" barrel, 6.5 mm Creedmoor with a 24" barrel and .243 Win. with a 26" barrel. Not sure which would be my fave.
Caliber ???
If I know Ruger ,it’s All calibers.
.308 Win. with a 20” barrel, 6.5 mm Creedmoor with a 24” barrel and .243 Win. with a 26” barrel.

Wonder how you remove the bolt for cleaning.
Wow! Another evil looking black gun! Ohhh Noooes!!!
I like it!
VERY pretty.
Now that’ll give you a Tingle up your leg , LOL
Good observation.
Check out this video...Ruger Precision Rifle. It goes over the rifle in detail...pretty interesting.
“Wonder how you remove the bolt for cleaning.”
The stock folds/locks to the side so the bolt slides out the rear.
I wonder if I can get it in a wood stock
With the weight you won’t need a brake.
That will be labeled as evil, extraordinarily deadly, and is something no one, except military snipers have any business possessing. Anti gunners will wet their pants.
