Short story:
Africa was black and backward. White guys take a small part of it (South Africa) and make it “Europe South” and create a really nice culture where even the blacks have a MUCH better lifestyle than their brethren in surrounding countries.
So many, many blacks move there for the better living. Next thing you know, the white culture is fighting for its very survival, finally branded racist, and forced to give up power to the majority.
And that is why it is the hell hole it is today. The wild turned back to its nature when civilization left.
A well-organized minority with superior firepower can dominate an unorganized minority for a long time.
Also, there is the old tactic of dividing the populace over some issue, and setting them against each other, so they won’t unite and turn on you (see Barack Obama setting blacks against whites here in America for an example of that). I imagine that tactic was probably very effective in SA, where there were already pre-existing tribal divisions.
Because the majority of blacks were not Communists, but they knew most of the leadership of the ANC were Communists with a lot of support from the Soviet Union.
I think you are exactly right about South Africa. I have white SA friends who bailed out several years ago. They are Texans now.
