Well....the update was really more akin to a service pack. The primary reason for it was to appease a large number of people who claimed the OS was garbage because the “start button” was missing...lol
In any case the 8.1 variant had a better interface to access the old style desktop for those who needed it....(and I am one of those who likes the desktop and hates the tiles)
I have windows seven on two machines and I have two tablets that both have 8.1. I love the 8.1 on the tablets however I really like seven on the desktops.
I guess it makes sense to have two different operating systems if you have two different types of computers but it makes even more sense to have one universal platform for every device including phones.
Several years ago when Windows phones first came out I had one and liked but you had to use a stylus with it. I have gotten used to android and really like it now.
I’m hopeful for the future but I have my doubts. I will upgrade at least one of my desktops to 10 to see how it is. If I like it perhaps I will switch my tablets also, we’ll see.
