SAN ANTONIO (AP) An iconic Texas restaurant chain will not allow the open carrying of guns on its properties, and industry experts say other restaurants will likely take the same stand against a new state law legalizing the practice in many public places.

I agree, this is Texas and Whataburger went out of their way to do something box of rocks dumb. But they have a right to stupidity and we have a right not to do business with them.
Exactly!
I have been in two civilian gun fights. In one them I was open carrying and it was very good for me. Not sure I would be here if I had to draw from a concealed location. Oh and I was very fast on the draw then. No matter what the position of the gun.
Well, I’m not arguing with you about that fact. Since we’re on the topic of things we don’t care about though, your opinion on the wisdom of open carry : QED.
“You presume wrong...”
So it’s ok for the state to trump the property rights of the owner regarding having guns in cars. Just wanted to see if your stand on “property rights” is selective. I have that answer.
Preach on !!!!
Sounds like some interesting stories.
The automobile is your property, the property inside of it is yours. The property owner the car is parked on cannot detain you or take your wallet, for example but they can ask you to leave the property or have you removed, the same goes for the automobile but they don’t have the right to strip it and sell it for parts.
My clothes are also my property...but keep trying!
Not really. Ancient history. We do agree on one thing in this regard. The best gunfight is the one you don’t have. Both of mine were thrust upon me and I had no choice.
Regardless of the quality of their burgers, I can understand their position on this at this time. They allow concealed carry now. Considering that open carry is new to all living Texans, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they aren't sure how their customers would react to open carry in their stores. Perhaps after some time they will relax that position, in the mean time, I'll continue to be a customer.

"An Act to Regulate the Keeping and Bearing of Deadly Weapons, Law of April 12, 1871, ch. 34, §1, 1871 Tex. Gen. Laws 25" passed as part of the Reconstruction.
Hat tip to Viet Nam veteran "Cecil", a frequent caller to KSEV radion in Houston, whose passion and activism certainly helped restore Texas' right to carry openly. May God continue to bless you!
Texas isn’t “all that” that it’s proponents brag about.
Other Constitutional stances many Texans hold on current issues have been diluted by democrats infiltrating our state. Democrats are a filthy stain on Life an Freedom as my tagline states, we're fighting them as best we can. Thanks for your support.
