Trump AZ Speech today: Let's get some FReeper Feedback. What stood out to you the most?

Posted on 07/11/2015 5:41:23 PM PDT by Din Maker

I've been a political junkie since I was 16 years old, but, I have never heard a political speech like Donald Trump's speech today in Phoenix, AZ.

I'd like to hear from some FReepers as to what was the one or two things in the speech that stood out, the most, to you? My two would be:

#1. Five (5) Sanctuary Cities in Florida during Jeb Bush's time as Governor.

#2. Why would America elect a woman who was the worst Sec. of State in the history of our nation, to the Office of President of the United States?

I wish I could remember the word(s) he used to diss Al Sharpton.

What’s up with North Dakota?

My guess is farmer fathead and cheap labor.

Can’t think of anything ag in NoDak that needs cheap labor. Maybe a few chicken or pig operations. Illegals are there mostly as service workers connected to the oil boom.

Iowa has illegals for the big corporate poultry and hog operations, and especially for meat processing.

Illegals are big at large dairy farms too.

I did not know that.

I do know there are only a handful of dairies at all in NoDak. It does explain Wisconsin though. Illegals working in Minnesota dairy farms have shown up too.

I liked how he reduced so much of leadership to negotiation skills. Trade deals, treaties...all that stuff. He showed that it requires people who actually have negotiating skills to do this so the us will come out on top. As it is now most people are there as favors and not because of any qualifications.

I actually disagree with you, but I do so acknowledging certain risks, which you are wise to point out to us all.

But I would like to point out to you the reason I personally am willing to take the risk: because most of the alternatives are so horrible. I’m sure you agree that the risk involved in nominating Trump is worth taking compared to the certain horror of nominating Bush... just to take one example.

New leadership sounds nice, but then I start thinking about the Republican primary voters and loose all hope.

I don't know where Cruz and Trump will take us, but it's going to be a bumpy ride. Personally, I think they will go a lot further than anyone expects. If not, it'll be the same old politics as usual, followed by civil disobedience or maybe a Civil War. I think most would agree this may be the last chance to get intelligent life and leadership into Washington and put this nation back on course.

As far as the primaries go. If Trump and Cruz can win over more of the the Latinos and Blacks, they might do alright. I really believe some (legal voters, not the illegal immigrants who can't vote) are listening and deciding to dump the Democrats if they can see some win-win for them. They care about the liberals hope and change but realize the core issues are not hate, race, and social injustice so much as jobs, immigration, healthcare, and national security. Yes, there are a lot of LIV to win over, but even a few could change the game.

I think Trump has done more to energized the Republican voter base than anyone expected. They showed up in large numbers at the Arizona rally to hear him and I think they liked what they heard. If they had been lining up around the block to hear any of the other candidates, especially the democratic ones, the media would have propagandized it for all it was worth.

The media is scared, and I mean very scared. They are working overtime to discredit Trump anyway they can. His style is different, he doesn't lead from behind. He's ahead of the game. The media and liberal heads are exploding trying to catch up to him. Before they can toss their dirt, he has moved on to another issue. His hit and run remarks about John McCain and Caroline Kennedy were a nice touch to keep the media off-balance.

So, I have hope Republican voters will turn out in better numbers since they have candidates like Trump and Cruz who are worthy of their vote.

I know you do. But your point was worth noting. A poster with 15 months under his belt wants us all to think alike, attacks those of us who don't and you were correct in pointing out that we shouldn't. btw...the owner of this website does not support Trump.

But I would like to point out to you the reason I personally am willing to take the risk: because most of the alternatives are so horrible. I’m sure you agree that the risk involved in nominating Trump is worth taking compared to the certain horror of nominating Bush... just to take one example.

Liberal Jeb Bush is not the only alternative to liberal Donald Trump. They're both liberals. There are many candidates in the race. They may not all be perfect candidates, but they are far more conservative than Jeb and lifelong liberal Donald Trump.

Wonder how many people are coming in illegally across the wide open prairie country. The Scandinavian farmers seem to have brought collective/socialist ideology with them over the last hundred years or so (longer?)

That CT OR TC ticket would cause MSM to jump off rooftops by the dozens. These two guys don’t answer questions, they fire back with their own questions and in the case of Trump....have a billion bucks to sue you with.

I was very motivated by how Cruz came out of the blocks, but what happened since then? The votes on trade, the past votes on H1B visas? That hurt him bad.

I’m waiting to see what Trump says about H1B visas.

So we should only accept 100% agreement on FR and disparage anyone who disagrees with us? That’s the kind of site you want?
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Not at all, but South40 has been “tormenting” and taunting everyone on this site who had anything nice to say about Trump for the last 3 days. I’m not the only one who is tired of his endless bulls**t. You might want to talk to him about not disparaging anyone who does not agree with him.
