Vanity - what are my rights as a homeowner in dealing with dogs and people parking in my drivewVanity - what are my rights as a homeowner in dealing with dogs and people parking in my driveway
As am I, but thanks.
If you have to ask, they have already won.
Thanks, he does seem a bit wound up tonight. Perhaps Jeb isn’t doing as well as hoped for?
If what you mean is that cars are parking in such a way as to block your driveway and stop you from getting your car out, then your best first bet is to call the police to complain.
Depending on local laws, you can make an arrangement with a towing company, where you post a sign saying tresspassers will be towed, and then when somebody blocks your driveway, you call the tow company to take it away. They make their money off the tow charges.
Check your city ordinance laws for nuisance dogs and laws pertaining to parked cars. Find what applies, contact the local PD and demand they enforce said ordinances. Cite the ordinances when you call.
If you are a white, Christian, male here legally in this country, you have no rights. Might as well give the dog the keys to your car, too.
If you own the property and there are no hoa rules, post a sign saying no parking private property. Out line your property with red or yellow paint like they do in the cities, and on the sign make it clear that the car will be towed at the owners expense, and any damage caused to the car being removed will as well be the problem of the owner.
As to dogs, what are the leash laws, if you have a neighbor using your lawn as a toilet, set up a vidcam and then sue in small claims. Or just find a farmer get a truck load of manure and dump it in his driveway, massive turnabout is fair play especially if you have proof of a**hole behavior.
Skunk scent from the sporting goods store.
Use it creatively and while they can’t blame you they will wonder enough to cause them to rethink where they park. Pour it on the dogs if you can too.
They will just think there are skunks on your property. If they ask you about it just claim that yeah, I’m having a terrible problem with skunks.
The best solution I've heard of for other dogs crapping in your front yard is to douse the "gifts" with bacon grease. The offender will then return and eat the offense (because that's what dogs do - they can't resist bacon!). Bwahahahaha!
Go find that cat that kicked that dog’s ass on the video. Hire that cat to come take care of business....even the people.
“Hey, friend. Nice car you got there. Be a real shame if some kitty cat scratched every panel on it. If I was you, I’d keep it out of this driveway. And go tell your chicken dog that the kitty cat wants to talk to him again. And bring me some catnip when you’re done moving that junker.”
Depends on the local laws. Last time I was in Palo Alto they had a law requiring all privately owned parking spaces to be made available to the public after 7:00 PM when not being used by the owner. So businesses with parking garages could not legally shut their garage doors after hours.
Like I said...this is not the America I grew up in. (sigh)
Well if a dog drives a car onto my driveway, I'll probably get my video camera.
Stuff it, Rambo. Perhaps Mussolini isn’t doing as well, either?
“what are my rights as a homeowner in dealing with dogs and people parking in my drive...”
If the dog is sitting in your driveway, you can shoot it with a bow and arrow. If the dog drove up in a vehicle, take a video, get a million hits on your website and make a ton of money from Google ads.
I believe it’s called trespassing.
You must be a lot of fun at a party.
Party at my house right now, in fact. I’d invite you, but I doubt that you can handle the booze.
However if the car (and or dog) belong to the following, you must immediately leave the premises, allowing the individual from the following groups to occupy it for as long as they desire:
Shout, "HEY!!! YOU REDNECK DOG!!! GET YOUR TRUCK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY!!!
