They can take care of themselves true. But mine follows me from room to room and, when I get home from work, meets me at the door to tell me all about his day.

He is not lonely as my husband is home with him and gives him plenty of attention. He is just a sociable, loving little furball.

I never had a cat as a child just dogs so I treated my kitties the same way I did the puppies. Maybe that was the trick.
