Mr. Winston did not have crab legs stuffed in his pants.
The story, collaborated by the seafood counter clerk, is that Mr. Winston was told (by an unknown, unnamed person) to pick up the crab legs at Publix. When he got to the counter the clerk handed him the crab legs and said, “no charge.” Mr. Winston walked out of the store with the crab legs clearly in sight.
This story brings up many uncomfortable questions...
Who told Mr. Winston to pick up the crab legs?
Who told the clerk to give them to Mr. Winston for free?
Was this a common occurrence, whereby football players received free food which is against NCAA rules?
There are many possible wrongs here, the LEAST of which is Mr. Winston walking out of the store with something that he was told - by an employee of that store - was free.
If I were shopping at my local supermarket and the man in the butcher department handed me a roast and said that it was free, I’d be pretty hacked off if I was subsequently charged with shoplifting.
Sorry, but what the heck are you talking about?
