Governor Scott Walker (R) is a Conservative hero with a record of taking progressives and unions in a state that went for Obama and beating them twice. He's cut government, taken away worker protections, supported government-mandated ultrasounds and empowered the private sector, making him the Republican insiders favorite for the 2016 GOP nomination.
His only problem is, his economic policies continue to fail miserably.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has ranked the Badger State 49th in its 50-state Leading Index report for April. With an index rank of -0.74 percent, Wisconsin was one of only five states to show contraction.
Experts do not read much into one months data. This index which factors in average manufacturing hours, unemployment, wage trends and building permits often shows a wide margin of error. The state has been especially rocked by the national decline in manufacturing.
However, Walker doesnt really have any positive economic data to point to. Since he took office, his state has fallen from 11th to 44th in job creation. Wisconsins wages are also declining at twice the national level.
Walkers new budget which reads more like a campaign document than a plan to create jobs offers a tax cut that mostly benefits the rich and sucks public funds into private ventures, in the form of school vouchers.
The governor is also rejecting Medicaid expansion and using the Affordable Care Act exchanges to kick 87,000 Wisconsinites off his states Badgercare program.
Meanwhile, his promise of creating 250,000 jobs looks less and less likely to happen.
Austerity seems to work about as well in America as it does in Greece. Maybe losing the recall was the best thing that could have happened for Wisconsins progressive movement. Walkers job creation record is speaking volumes about attacking the institutions that helped create Americas middle class.
Did I read in it’s “for April”?
More left wing talking points. Wisconsin is doing much better than it did under Disaster Doyle, especially during the 2009-11 period.
Take a look at that site.
That appears to be a pretty hard left source.
Praise for the girl scout moral stance on gay marriage.
The Ferguson report.
The wonders of Barbara Boxer.
Interesting magazines you read there c’joy.
Posting leftist crap on FR because you think it will help your candidate.
Pathetic.
lies, damn lies, and statistics.
Time for the left to go after Walker. He’s the next to announce. In a couple of weeks, they will be bashing Kasich.
No author is mentioned, but did you catch this above the title? “@LOLGOP” That says it all.
Since the Feds say that wages are (anemically) up, what kind of math does one use to come up with a comment like that? Mr. Pearlman should call his 7th grade math teacher and ask for a summer remedial tutorial.
The data used is solid and supported from multiple sources. Fox Business Network has even discussed this. Wisconsin is losing its middle class at an alarming rate.
I believe solid conservative economic policies work, but when neighboring Democrat run states are outperforming Wisconsin at every level, I have to question whether those sound conservative policies are being applied in Wisconsin.
Nationally, we can’t take another hit to the middle class.
This guy always posts crap like this from uber liberal sites about Walker.
Not sure what his problem is.
When national publications have been reporting for months, bad economic numbers for Wisconsin, I think we need to examine a little further whether it is a good idea to take this nationally.
Bloomberg, Forbes, Real Clear Politics, Politico, The Hill and numerous others, including Fox Business network have been reporting on Wisconsin’s dismal economic record.
I think we ignore it at our peril. Anyone can google this stuff and verify it.
Post something positive for YOUR candidate. Don’t trash a conservative candidate....trash Hillary all you want. The last thing we need to do is bash someone who is one step beneath Cruz.
I will vote for Cruz in the primary but I can and will vote for Walker in the general if the winds move in that direction.
Trash JEB or Rubio.....they won’t get my vote no way, no how.
Well, when the campaign heats up and the debates begin, I hope it won’t upset you too much when Walker is called on his economic record. Without a doubt, he will be.
I've asked this of you before, were you once the poster formerly known as pissant?
If not, you're being just as much a horses ass as he was.
Please stop. I'm a Cruz guy, but you're doing the work of the left here, not helping Cruz one bit.
I post plenty of positives for Cruz. I don’t think we can responsibly ignore the record of anyone. These issues will be brought up during the campaign whether we like it or not.
I have no idea who you are talking about.
I don’t understand the attitude of ignoring the record of someone running for President. That has not worked out well for us.
There are too many economic indicators from too many sources to just ignore that there are problems. But if you wish to do so, that is your right.
Just stop.
Posting leftist crap here against a candidate who isn't your favorite, thinking it helps your candidate is despicable.
