The other big quote from the interview which will live on:
When John got shot, aside from the pure horror of it, the lingering thing was, OK, well now Johns a martyr. A JFK. So what happened was, I started to get frustrated because people started to say, Well, he was The Beatles. And me, George and Ringo would go, Er, hang on. Its only a year ago we were all equal-ish.
Yeah, John was the witty one, sure. John did a lot of great work, yeah. And post-Beatles he did more great work, but he also did a lot of not-great work. Now the fact that hes now martyred has elevated him to a James Dean, and beyond. So whilst I didnt mind that I agreed with it I understood that now there was going to be revisionism.

Yow.
Chuck Berry & (John Lennon and Yoko Ono) - Memphis Tennessee

Paul may have a grudge but the completely talentless and ultra-Groupie, Yoko was a leech and is still reaping the benefits of being associated with them.
She was a nothing “Artist” and still is.
Paul was the most moderate of the group and as a result, has thrived.
Wow! And here I thought seeing Jimmy Reed at the Lakewood Canteen in '68 was pretty cool!
Lancers '70
Rolling Stones for me.
One poster earlier said that after he was arrested Chapman's first words were: "They told me Yoko was the tall one"
And whike we’re at it: Linda McCartney- good promoter, great photgrapher. But just the same, leave her microphone off.

I read an article somewhere (I hadn’t mentioned it because I don’t know if I can find it, and I’ll be called a liar)that said he had a change of viewpoint after the birth of his second son, and that he was considering supporting Reagan for president.
He was Anti-War in the 60’s but I don’t recall him ever badmouthing the troops like Fonda, or Kerry.
Also he was coming around to like President Reagan too =)
I’m glad someone else read that also. I posted after you and figured everyone was going to call me a liar. :)
I never really appreciated the Beatles. Still dont.

Agree! Lennon was a Communist!
Only song of theirs I liked was “Hey Jude”. Was in Iowa City IA, when the song hit big, for a two week seminar at the University. Local 3.2 beer hangout with nurse students played the song about every five minutes and everyone sang as loud as possible. .....You’ve got to drink a LOT of 3.2 beer to even get a buzz!
Yes, I just an article about the creation of the song. It seems to have collaboration of a number of people. The article didn’t make it real clear who was chiefly responsible, but it could have been Harrison.
Capitol Records put different tracks and fewer tracks on the US album releases than did Parlaphone in the UK which always had 14 tracks.
It was Capitol’s way of squeezing out more albums/more $$$s from “the boys”.
It was only with “Sgt Pepper” that the US and UK albums matched.

All of the re-masterings (including the 24-bit Hi-Rez FLAC files) are based on the original UK versions.
Also, it was with “Pepper” that Paul’s bass was finally potted up in the mixes and his melodic, tuneful bass lines were finally heard. He was always an underrated bassist but eventually his prowess became more widely admired.
Paul’s bass playing style led me to appreciate my fav bassist - the late, great Jaco Pastorius (”Weather Report”, et al) who had a similar melodic bass style.
“Band on the Run” (Red Square in 2003)

A superb McCartney rocker...with a nice lyric twist in last verse.
This backing group was far more talented than Beatles in terms of musicianship and technical abilities.
Don’t you want to “fill the world with silly love songs”??
What’s wrong with that,
I’d like to know,
‘cos here I go,
Agaaaaaiiiinnn...
LOL
And George was best friends with this far-to middlin’ blues guitarist named Eric Clapton. If you ever listen to either Eric’s or George’s work from the 70’s there was a lot of cross-pollination in their work. They both made the other better musicians..

Yoko must have been hot in her day, I guess..... I don’t see it! lol
BTW, I hope you have Al’s most recent efforts, A Beach Full of Shells and Sparks of Ancient Light. Most of the songs are outstanding. Bob
Ringo’s best work was with Thomas The Tank Engine
Re: I never got why Imagine was liked so much, I hated it.
Because it is a great song as long as you don’t actually think through the implications of the lyrics. Most people don’t think.
