The developers should set aside a small patch of land honoring these men and those who died for The Revolution.

A gazebo, for instance, with a plaque would seem appropriate.

Contact the local DAR and SAR chapters. Your county genealogy society should be able to give you that contact info. The library will have a contact for the genealogy group.

I was just looking at some photos of the resting place of my own 5th great-grandfather, a Revolutionary War soldier from Virginia and a Kentucky pioneer.

My fifth great-granfather—one Thomas Davis—also served under Francis Marion, though he was from Lumberton, NC, not SC. Perhaps he would of known Jeremiah Vereen. I think I found his grave north of Lumberton at an old Church site.
