We're enjoying a rather strange, quiet 4th of July weekend. The Lake of the Ozarks is experiencing a major flood and our governor has issued an executive order for “no wakes” by boaters. So; instead of roaring motor boats, we have boaters creeping around the coves of this 90 mile long lake, to protect the shoreline and the 25,000 docks hereabouts. Weird.

Gardens are doing well. Loads of Amish paste and cherry tomatoes. Cukes enough to make our first pickles and onion mix. Jalapeno& other peppers are doing nicely. Cyans are slow to turn red. These were bought from a local garden store rather than seed started with the rest back in February.
Wishing everyone a great, safe 4th of July and let us remember why we celebrate our Independence Day.

Strange weather this summer all around us it seems. I have no memory of any July this cool and wet.
