Any moment now the Free Republic Anti-Fence Platoon will storm the thread telling us that this is proof fences don’t work.

Hell this one only lasted a few thousand years.

Funny thing about the wall is the emperor let the enemy in.

Sound familiar?

After the Wall was built, guards were easily bribed and foreign armies were allowed to climb to the other side.

I hate to say this about a group of people,
but I know something here. I spent 5 years
in Greater China and I’m married into it.

The Chinese are very short-term oriented.
They will feed their children rotten food
to save 5 cents. They will despoil their
environment with nary a thought for what
they are giving the next generation because
they NEED to get rich NOW.

In parts of Taiwan, farmers made a LOT of
money raising shrimp in shrimp ponds. They
extracted fresh water from the underground
aquifers. Lots of people got rich, and that
attracted more. The natural underground waters
were being drained away. They bribed officials
charged with slowing this down to avert disaster.

The end result: 1. when the fresh water was depleted
the salt water from the seas nearby came in and
ruined the aquifers. 2. In the inland areas,
they created sinkholes that sucked in rural apartment
buildings and businesses.

All this to get rich in the short term.

I have many other examples, but just know that
many of them will shaft others and the next
generation for a quick benefit today.

Instead of buying bricks for building their homes,
the Chinese are using the bricks made thousands of
years ago by their ancestors to build the Great Wall,
thereby ruining a precious national historical
monument. This is easily in fitting with the national
character, sad to say. These farmers know what they
are doing and they just don’t care about anything
but saving a buck today.

Cultural commies are doing the same: make the homosexuals
feel good today about their rotten sin and damn the next
generation.

Good afternoon.

The Great Wall of China no longer keeps invaders out, nor state slaves in. What good is it except for tourists?

I say the EPA should contact the Chicoms to have the wall taken down for environmental reasons (i.e. habitat corridors, fly ways, water ways, etc.).

I wonder if the White Hut has that petition on its web site?

I loves my BBQ pit! These bricks hold heat for hours. As an added benefit, it even repels barbarians!

Government, is there anything it can’t ruin?
