What do you think satellites do?? We get pics from all over the world. Those satellites contain large telescopes that are made just for that purpose. The ISS isn't made for that sort of thing. The astronauts have ordinary cameras with telephoto lenses, which still don't do so well from 200 miles.

Glancing at
heavens-above.com, looks like ISS will not be favorably aligned to observe the US at the time when most fireworks displays should be underway Saturday evening.
The rotation of Earth under the ISS orbital track will not allow the next series of such early evening encounters to begin again until late this month.
