More pics here: This is the smallest...
Oh, those beautiful eyes! So freaking cute. I. WANT! (Yes, I fully realize this is a wild animal. Still...)
For later.
Get Me One !
I’m gonna pick up a couple...you just want one? Ya sure?
Deceptive little monsters ... probably rip your face off if you give them the chance ....
No species?
I might have the cats mixed up- I think it’s the African ‘sand cat’ I’m thinking of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MjG9r_YP_U
Very similar cat- the sand cat is viscious=- dunno about the cat in this htread htough
Felis nigripes
I wonder if that is from the bottom of their feet. The tops look like that of any normal house cat.
I’d also wonder if they are genetically close to our familiar Felis catus or Felis silvestris.

Wow, he’s cute, too!
From Saudi Arabia.
I wonder if these little wild cats are any meaner than born-feral “domestics.”
Since they are rare, nobody is trying to see what one raised like a normal house cat would be like.
Yeah, I’m curious what one would be like to get it as a kitten. :)
First sign of trouble: it killed your German Shepherd
Thanks- I had watched a video on youtube showing all different kidns of cats around the world, and they definitely mentioned the sand cat as one you really did not want as a pet because it was fierce and territorial, and has huge canine teeth- and are difficult ot impossible to domesticate-
Again, for domestication, I would wonder if that applied to born in captivity and raised as though domestic (even if that took using a regular house cat as foster nursing mother of a newborn). Taking one even just weaned from a wild litter might already have it learned enough from its mother to be difficult to manage.
lol...
It may have been when my dad was stationed in Mississippi...my mom can no longer recall, and my dad has dementia, but it was somehwere down South. Somehow he met an older lady who had a very vicious cat. She took care of it, but didn’t let it in the house. She couldn’t understand why it wasn’t like a normal cat. And it was beating the tar out of all the dogs in the neighbourhood. My dad had to inform her it was a Bobcat. :)
There are lots of little wild cats out there that I have never heard of. It’s very interesting. I had never heard of this blackfooted little guy nor the Sandcat prior to today.
This one I came across several weeks back called the Kodkod...smallest cat in the Americas (South America):

Montgomery Burns is an evil man...
