True, it seems they don't want to compromise. In our system, sometimes we all have to compromise some to get what we want or most of it while realizing we need to protect the interests of those who do not agree. This is bad and when you paint one side into a corner, that's when all Hell can break loose.

Barry Goldwater was right in opposing the Civil Rights bill of the 1960's, particulary the 1964 one. He said it would open all can of worms and he was proven right. Basically, someone or some group with an ax to grind can say, "we have to get our way, it is our civil right." If you want something, say it is your civil right, bingo, it's yours.
