I am considering flying our flag upside down from now on...did it once when o was elected...just feels like freedom is waning
Gadsen Flag is flying over our house now...had forgotten we had one...
Reaction to my upside down flag was the same. I was told it’s a sigh of distress. My response was WELL! I too ended up taking it down and haven’t flown it since.
NOT sigh s/b sign
The united States are no longer a union. The States have no rights according to this latest, and not the first of its kind, court decision.
Gadsen Flag will be flying at our house. No US flag. It has ceased to exist.
Flying the flag upside down is like calling 911. Do it when there is a physical emergency and you have no other comms.
My protest flag, aloft as I type, is the Gadsden. Old Glory has rested on a shelf, properly, triangularly folded since November 2008. I have requested in a codicil to my will (which will expire on January 20, 2017 unless renewed) that, as a veteran entitled to military honors, my burial flag be the Gadsden.
While I have Gadsden stickers on my car, Gadsden monogrammed golf shirts, and a Gadsden mousepad at work, my protest flag is the Bonny Blue ...
Good one, and I applaud your choice.
For me, it properly belongs to the CSA, and has been plagiarized by Somalia. The Gadsden is for the whole country, and is unmistakable.
I would rather fly a pair of Boxers with a skidmark . . .
The Army of Northern Virginia Battle Flag is square and symmetrical... so it can’t be flown inverted (or sideways).
good to know
I might actually use that info today
I stand corrected... the 5-point stars have points upward on the flag... someone might notice that.
bump
thanks I’m going to copy it and use it
Don’t do it. Don’t in any way telegraph your heart. There is, I’m sure, a Sun Tzu principle involved here, but generally, deceit against the enemy works in your favor.
see my post 41
My neighbors already know my “heart”....won’t be news to them
Or perhaps 40,000 angry citizens in front of the supreme court? Empty handed of course, but shouting in anger ...
It might make an impression.
You have it right: flying the flag upside-down is just like a 911 call. A political snit does not equate to actual physical peril, and I am amazed at how many so-called conservatives do not seem to be able to grasp this concept.
Well, my main reason is because, very early on during the Texas Revolution, it was the National Flag of The Republic of Texas.
You don’t think this nation is at a 911 point right now?
