Sarah Palin's 24-year-old daughter revealed on Thursday that she is pregnant with her second child, and it sounds like it wasn't planned. Interestingly, Bristol does not reveal who the father of her unborn child is.

I’ve have seen it done perfectly well 6 times. The BEST choice is for the child to stay with his biological parents, even if that means only one of them.

Thanks for bringing that up. Too many people see only two choices here. Either raise the kid in a single parent house-hold (bad), or abortion (murderously bad).
Not all single mothers should chose adoption. But they all should consider it.

I didn’t say it was the culture’s fault. My point is that everyone is heaping criticism on her FOR BEING PREGNANT. If it were not that, they would be criticizing the entire culture, probably INCLUDING THEMSELVES. At minimum they would be bashing the daddy, too.
You who are without sin, keep on criticizing Bristol. The rest of you should reconsider.

The conservative position on single motherhood/illegitimacy has always been clear. We've always been vocal about it, and there's never been a problem.
But now we should shut up because it's Bristol Palin?

No. But Bristol is not a crack whore. Yes the parent should be fit. Adoptive parents are not always fit, either. Would you rather she give her child to a couple of homos? Or two crack heads? The discussion assumes otherwise fit adults. I can paint any number of problems on adoptive parents, too.
Ask anyone and they will tell you they would rather be raised by their natural parent. I think adoption is a wonderful and beautiful choice. But it is option 2, not 1. Yes that assumes the parent is fit and capable.
