Always liked his characterization of the quintessential (old school) Brit.
He was a bit of a squish but seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

I always wondered what if he was cast as the first James Bond. Too much class probably for the role.

The Avengers was a great show. Glad to see he was able to live to a ripe old age.

Always enjoyed Mr. Macnee as the dapper John Steed in “The Avengers.” Rest in peace, Patrick.

The best TV show ever made.

Just read that he served in the Royal Navy during World War II.
I also remember him playing the captain of a cruise ship in an episode of Columbo.
Rest in peace, Mr. Macnee.

I thought he had passed many years ago. I guess he led a quiet life for the last 25 years.

To re shoot this movie today, they could cast American Actor Steve Carell as the male lead, and Welsh Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones as the female.

Macnee did some sci-fi work, too. Original Battlestar Galactica, IIRC.

The Avengers was and remains a great series, a whole lot of fun, a reminder of the "Swinging England" of the '60s, and a perfect combination of intrigue and British humor.
Macnee was always terrific.
