Crony Capitalism: ObamaCare has unleashed a wave of industry mergers that will increasingly restrict access and limit choices for consumers. Worse, it will make government control of the industry all the easier.
Does anyone remember President Obama promising that ObamaCare would create a few giant health care oligopolies? Well, it's heading that way.

All part of The Plan?
Yup. Easier for FedGov to take over once they’ve all merged into a single colossal health insurance company.
Remember the optimism we felt when the R’s took over the Senate and retained the House? The libs are totally in control and things will continue to slide toward socialism if not fascism.
Humana and UHC will apparently be the last two standing. Wonder where Blue Cross - who covers Federal employee’s insurance at least in our state - will end up. Interesting that in Texas the Blue Cross for state employees changed to UHC last year. Tried to find out who made this decision and the driving factors but can’t seem to get a response out of anyone contacted.
I agree. The Tea Party gatherings of 2009 and 2010 and the elections of 2010 and 2012 have done NOTHING to stop this speeding descent into socialism/fascism.
All of the exits are closing. Now what? With the exception of electing a strong, conservative President. I’m not even sure that can happen, with the complete dumbing down of the masses. Look what the communists promised, in the 60’s, and look where we are, today :(
We’ve turned from God to Government. Like Time magazine predicted...We’re ALL Socialists, now.
It’s sickening beyond belief...that we’ve given up our liberties and rights, one chip at a time...with merely a whimper. Our Founders (ooh, is that racist, or offensive to say, nowadays?) must be spinning in their blessed graves.
Exactly....yippee...we’re all *Universally* covered under our new Cr@pCare. Third world, here we come.
My employer, which I will not name, is expected lose 50 Million in profits this year, just from those they have signed up under the ACA... small players will never be able to survive.
I REFUSE TO COMPLY
F#$% THEM
I have had it with this $hit
I don’t know who voted for the ‘slob boy in the oval office’ and really don’t care, but now that he is unleashing all his $hit on the American public, I hope their satisfied with themselves, karma plays a big role in life and it’s going to smack them right in the face before long...
Only other problem is, it’s going to really hurt the ones of us that didn’t vote for him really, really hard....
Humana is for sale
BC/BS of Tx is indepdent and not owned by Anthem
Thanks. One article I read somewhere seemed to think that the only two that would be left standing would be Humana and UHC. I know UHC/UBH - which is the mental health carve out and under the big umbrella of Optum has a new president who used to head up AARP. A couple of years ago individuals who had secondary coverage through AARP and primary coverage through UHC were all switched to UBH as far as payment of mental health claims went. Never belonged to AARP and have always discouraged everyone I know from joining. AAA offers lots of benefits and overall is better than AARP IMO plus AAA didn’t support Obamacare.
Cigna has taken over Great West but somehow I can’t see Aetna joining with anyone. All BC plans of every state are different and most have different networks - as far as mental health is concerned. That is the only benefits I concern myself with any more because all my clients are mental health providers.
I’ll just say that Cigna and Humana are for sale, I worked for UHC back in the 90’s and for Humana in 2012-2014...
