A cat would be cheaper.

And why isn’t that fox outside taking care of the mice?

this is all he has so far on the encyclical, I will check back to see what he says about it.

Papal Encyclical. By the time you read this column on Sunday the Pope will have released his new encyclical Laudato Si on Thursday. As I write this on Wednesday the press is already presenting its spin on the document. But always remember: do not to accept the media’s spin—they neither understand nor like the Church. Read the encyclical itself, and/or consult Catholic sources you trust. Next week, after reading the encyclical carefully, I will do my best to give you a summary of its teachings.

I think that doctors are quite free with their comments when you are “under”. I remember having a colonoscopy and while I was falling asleep, the doctor and the nurses were discussing the piece of classical music that was playing. The had the wrong name, but I was too groggy to correct them.

When I awoke, they asked what I had heard, andI pointed out that they had called the music by the wrong name — different composer and name for the piece. They then asked, “What else did you hear; what do you remember?” I said, “Nothing” and they seemed relieved. I never went back to that group.

xshub is allergic to cats and the rest of us hate them. you’d think the presence of dogs would be a deterrent? not going to invite the fox inside to deal with them.

ha, i’d have said, oh I have an uncanny sense of being able to hear things while unconscious... and let them wonder what I heard!

Good. I have my husband to empty the traps. I won’t touch them.

But check under all your sinks to see how well the wall is fitted around those pipes. There can be NO space. Then, if you have gas appliances (stove) check there too. If you have a basement, check all around there and all around the exterior of your foundation too. You’d be surprised where they get in.

She says, “I can’t live inauthentically anymore,” Bailar said. “So do I give up my goal of being a great women’s swimmer to be a decent male swimmer at best? Yes. There is pride and glory in this path, too.”

She can't live inauthentically so she chooses to live in the most inauthentic manner possible. That is the very definition of insanity. The notion that sex is a choice belittles and demeans men and women.

I can’t wait until there are trans on the women’s sports teams (and then they win all the awards).

It’ll be quite the conundrum.

You nailed it. What is wrong with the way God made her? She was unique and perfect just the way she was. What the heck is inauthentic about that?

I fault all this unisex naming!

“The common thought amongst all of us was that Schuyler is Schuyler,” said Regan Kology, a distance freestyler from New Jersey who was recruited to the women’s team at the same time as Bailar. “He’s the same, genuine, funny, kind-hearted person, no matter who he chooses to identify as. The fact that he is able to be the person he wants to be makes no difference to us as long as he is happy.”

Schuyler, Regan!

Because what he said is such a truism, the only reason to STATE it as this point in time, is as Freeper Livius points out on the thread, to start softening up the Church's stance for the Synod on the Family, and the eventual permitting of the divorced and remarried to take communion.

Oh I'm eating lunch and your rat infestation just gagged me!! I feel for you - I had a mouse (which is just a small rat as far as I'm concerned) when I was in college - killed one in a trap and thought I might have to call the fire department to pick it up and get rid of it for me....finally used some kind of long tongs and just threw it over the fence - rat, trap and all - (there was a field out there not someones home).... it is worth every penny to get rid of them!!!
