Donald Trump to Confederate flag: You’re fired!
politico ^ | 6-23-2015 | ADAM B. LERNER

Donald Trump spent the majority of his first news conference following last week’s presidential announcement talking up his new golf course, though he did weigh in on two key political issues up for debate.

When asked whether he supported South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s decision to call for the Confederate battle flag to be taken down from out front of the State Capitol building, Trump said he did.

“I would take it down, yes,” the billionaire real estate mogul said. “I think they should put it in a museum and respect whatever it is you have to respect.”

Then, when asked what woman he would like to see on the new $10 bill, he responded — to laughter — “My mother.”

The questions came after Trump spoke outside his Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. There, Trump reiterated his offer to let President Obama play on the course, but said he hasn’t yet heard back from the White House.

“I would say I’m probably not his favorite person in the world,” Trump said of the commander-in-chief, though he did note that he had a helicopter pad available on-site and that Obama could travel across the Potomac River to the course relatively quickly.

Trump has been in the race only a week — and has never held elective office — but polls give him a real shot at one of the 10 slots on the Republican debate stage this August. According to Fox News, the co-sponsor of the debate, the top 10 contenders will be determined according to an average of national polls — though the network hasn’t disclosed which ones.

A poll of likely New Hampshire voters released Tuesday by Suffolk University found Trump garnering 11 percent of votes, trailing only former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s 14 percent. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio both finished with support below 10 percent.

Still, a national poll of Republican primary voters released Monday by the WSJ and NBC news was far less sanguine for The Donald. Only 1 percent of respondents listed Trump as their top choice and two-thirds said that they could never imagine supporting him.

If we are going to ban the Confederate Flag as a symbol of slavery, then to be consistent, we have to ban the Stars and Stripes too.

It flew over slavery and slave transporting ships for much, much longer than any flag of the Confederacy. If the logic is that the flag flew over slave-owning lands, then the Stars and Stripes has to go, as well.

Heck, even the Ku Klux Klan flew the Stars and Stripes in their rallies...

If we go down that road, we will continue to be lopsided in our views, unaware of our own history.

So What's next? Are they going to take down the Flag of the United States too?
By capitulating because an evil nutjob like Dylann Roof slaughtered 9 innocent black Christians, aren’t folks like Trump providing incentive for the next nutjob to do something similar?

Not just that but anything someone decides is politically incorrect in the future. He probably knows that some are calling for the tearing down of monuments and statues, re-naming military bases, what about US 11 the Robert E. Lee Memorial Highway? Their pandering is not going to gain them any support it’s going to cost them, all this going on at a time when all the Republicans have to do to win the WH, Senate and House is to unify those who traditionally support them and they start by attacking Conservatives and then adopting democrat policies and spending us into oblivion and refusing to stand up to Obama and his illegal actions.

Isn’t much different than those Republican politicians who crumpled up like a cheap accordian wet noodle when faced with standing up for religious freedom.

Ted Cruz is the only one who has showed courage in the face of opposition.

The itchy ears canidates window shoppers are on this one: Trumped, then Rumored, then finally Stumpted to go where next.

It just galls them to turn and realize that Ted Cruz is the only conservative candate to support.

Rand Toast Paul disappointed them also.

Hey Cruz haters ? The Ayatollah of Iran is available as a candidate to vote for if your reaching and scratching the bottom of the barrel.

It must really galls ya all and sucks to have to face and admit it that you might just have to vote for him in the general election in 2016.

They might just cut off their nose to spite their face and vote for Hillary or Berney.

That’s how deep their hatred of Ted Cruz is.

Pityful.

I find it both sad yet interesting that anyone here on the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism would hate the most conservative man in the race while supporting the man who is, undoubtedly, one of the most liberal men to ever run with an R next to his name.

Admittedly it’s a small sample size, but, so far Gorsuch ranks between Souter and O’Connor. At the same point in John Roberts’ SCOTUS career, we though he was great. Too early not to say Gorsuch is a John Paul Stevens or David Souter.

Speak for yourself on Roberts.. I did not put this list together.. as noted by the person who did at the bottom of the list...

The weight of this nation, it might be said, weighs upon whether or not Gorsuch will fulfill his oath of office. Few, these days do.

I thought it proper, to demonstrate that President Trump is far more conservative than any of the host, of other election 2016, primary contenders.

I think it's the reverse is true. And the media did everything in their power to drive the other 16 out.

You watched a different election... Conservative 'media' mouth and words were never for Trump... the mass media made big money off promoting Trump as the 'orange baboon'. Because, they all had Rick Wilson's dirty dossier in the top drawer to end Trump's campaign... Trump rallies and are what won him the election... Maybe you watched at least one of them? Now there are two sitting senators who thought they were entitled to leave their Senate work and use donors dollars to get to the White House... and for all they have accomplished they could still be out campaigning on some one else dime.
