My point was, and I stick to it, that term limits for elected faces are meaningless, because the elected faces don't set the agenda. The forces who set the legislative agenda are just as powerful at the state level as at the federal level, so repeal of the 17th would have little effect.

The current political/administrative/judicial system is a huge house of cards. It will fall of its own doings.
