Considering what we now know about the NSA spying scandal.... How do we know this device is not gathering our biometrics (voice) along with our habits?
Amazon is trying to sell this A.I. to everyone as if it's your buddy. (check out the two short videos at the link)
This technology reminds me of the movie, "Her".
We know how this ends ping.
Id rather let someone else use ECHO...echo....echo...echo..
I, For One, Welcome Our New Amazon Overlords.
None of the above. It’s kind of a pointless always on voice interface for Google searches.

“Just a moment... Just a moment... I’ve just picked up a fault in the EA-35 unit. It’s going to go 100% failure within 72 hours.”
I love mine so far. I have had it for two months and so far I have managed to connect 5 lights, 2 ceiling fans, the living room TV and both of my thermostats. I can turn the lights off or on by voice. I can turn the TV off or on. I can turn the ceiling fans on or off. I have the thermostat integrated to the point I can adjust the temp up or down, turn the AC off and read the current set temperature.
Now I am working on integrating it to my home (ADT) security system. This doesn’t look straightforward but I am trying.
We also use her to play music, set alarms, timers, grocery lists and of course knock knock jokes.
All in all pretty slick for 99 bucks
Soon everything will have a micro-controller in it. This will happen, not because it is needed but because it is possible.
The cost to make powerful, tiny micro-controllers is dropping to pennies. Soon there will be wi-fi enabled salt and pepper shakers that notify restaurants they need to be refilled.
