I’d observe that the violins in Baltimore is a cancer.
I had read he had a “Personal announcement to make” so I had a feeling it wasn’t good news
May he recovery swiftly and completely. May the rest of us one day discover from which state he governs
Maryland?
Yikes, likely Stage 3 or Stage 4, already metastasized all over the place.
I wish him and his family well and I will pray for them that he can achieve a full recovery. Lymphoma is trickier than Hodgkin’s but it can be beatable or at least be managed although complications can happen. I lost a good friend from it as well as one of my cats, she was 19.
US Senator Angus King of Maine also annouced he has prostate cancer today. His has been caught early during a routine physical. He is doing surgery during the July 4th recess to minimize impact on his work in the senate.
Boyd Rutherford was happy to join the ticket as LtGov. He has said many times “I don’t want to be governor.” He meant that to say that he did not have the ambition and that he would be able to be Hogan’s “heavy” and “bad guy” when needed. Destiny may have something else in store for Boyd.
This will cast a bit of a pall over tomorrow night’s Red White and Blue Dinner - the major fundraising event for the state GOP. I am a central committee member and will be attending. I have a feeling that more attendees than usual will take serious part in the invocation prayer.
Wow, I didn’t want to see that today. Prayers up for him that he comes to know the Lord. You just know the opposition will pounce on this, after the obligatory 3-4 hours of sympathy.
Damn!
I’ve been fairly impressed by him.
I wonder who we’ll be stuck with now.
FNC reported it to be advanced lymph node system cancer.
A sad day for MD and my prayers for Larry and his family.
Prayers for his health and healing.
I hope he doesn’t need to step down
If he does, Maryland has its first Black Republican governor
Prayers for him and his family.
Speaking as a Marylander - this is truly terrible news. He has been doing his level best to be a good governor and not try to settle old political scores (Ehrlich) or position for higher office (O’Malley).
My prayers for his recovery and for him and his family in any event.
Prayers up for Gov Hogan.
Oh dear.
Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, my mom’s uncle (by marriage) had that, it killed him.
Hogan is NOT stepping down or so it would seem. His doctors say he has a good chance of survival.
