That IS the whole story. My brother and I got baseballs signed by the whole team except Rose. This was probably ‘79 or ‘80.

My brother and I got baseballs signed by the whole team except Rose. This was probably 79 or 80. You'd never get a Reds baseball signed by Pete Rose in 1979 or 1980 because he was playing for the Phillies then.
I have no reason not to believe you but I think you're off by a couple of years :)
