Guns don’t kill people, the Constitution kills people, at least according to Karl Rove, Republican strategist and architect of George W. Bush’s election and reelection as president. Rove, speaking on Fox News Sunday, and in the wake of the South Carolina church massacre, embraced the liberal mantra that there are too many guns on the street and went a step further and a step too far, saying the way to avoid more such tragedies is to repeal the Second Amendment and its guarantee of our right to keep and bear arms:
Now maybe there’s some magic law that will keep us from having more of these. I mean basically the only way to guarantee that we will dramatically reduce acts of violence involving guns is to basically remove guns from society, and until somebody gets enough “oomph” to repeal the Second Amendment, that’s not going to happen.

If there was any doubt regarding Rove this is the final nail in his coffin. There are some things you do not fool with and the Constitution is one of them.
Contrary to false statements of certain social media, Carl Rove DID NOT advocate repeal of 2nd amendment. All he did was state the obvious that laws against guns are not effective against idiots who are intent on killing innocent people. His statement about the 2nd amendment was nothing more than an observation that it wil never happen. You may not be a Carl Rove fan, but let’s not distort what he said.
Why does ANYONE listen to this asshat!
Taking his words at their clear and obvious meaning, this man has lost my respect.
Who is Karl Roive?
Seems similar to Karl Rove.. but is he maybe a relative or something?
This article left out his next line in the interview which was
” I don’t think it’s an answer.”
I’m not a fan of rove but he’s not advocating get rid of the second amendment.

Agree. Rove wasn’t advocating that the 2nd Ammendment “should” be rescinded. He merely state the fact that in order to eliminate private ownership of firearms the constitution must amended. And, that ain’t gonna happen anytime soon.

This is a guy who would support the repeal of the 2nd Amendment and only wishes he had enough "oomph" to do so.
Hate Rove for his many sins against conservatism if you like, but this is not one of them.

I SO much agree with you!!!
I’ve watched the video and it is very clear that he suggested the only way to end gun violence was by repealing the 2nd amendment. With all the reporting on this, he has not issued a correction so I think we are all safe in concluding this is want he meant to say.
Or at least an Article V Convention to kickstart the process...

Yes. However, Rove is WRONG if he thinks that even with a 2nd Amendment repeal, and confiscation of all legal guns, that gun crime, or any crime, would cease. It would GROW ENORMOUSLY. That is a historical fact, not a guess.
