“... sounds like she is in denial of her own immoral life choices..”

I read the article and she does seem to paint herself as a victim. Not defending Hef but this all sounds like a “business” arrangement. Live in the mansion, get $1000 a month, free plastic surgery/beauty treatments and you are one of his whores in his stable. Your contract expires when you turn 28. She described the “contract” all too well and fully accepted it with each passing day. IMHO.. she is hoping to make $ on this “revealing” book and is setting forth the “story” to tell her daughter, “Rainbow”, that Mommy was a good girl and kept locked in the evil mansion by the mean, cruel monster.

There is no woman so stupid that she would not see the arrangement as anything other than what it was: being a "kept" mistress, given a place to live, some money, and maybe a chance to be picked up by some rich old man to sweeten his last years in exchange for inheritance.

If it’s just a business arrangement, then why does Hefner always refer to them as “girlfriends”, implying all they’re with him because they love him?

Why doesn’t he call them “my paid mistresses”?

Read the whole article, the thing that stands out is the total lack of emotion involved.

That’s what so annoying about Hefner - the deliberate lies, the hypocrisy.

"Live in the mansion, get $1000 a month"

It wasn't 1,000 a month according to the article.

"Hef also gave the girls a weekly clothing allowance of $1,000 and would pay for any plastic surgery they wanted."

If there were seven women, it would have been costing him approximately 364,000 a year for "clothing allowances."

I watched an old western episode (”Wanted: Dead or Alive”, with a young Steve McQueen) on youtube last night. The rich, but ugly guy in town wanted McQueen (a bounty hunter) to fix him up with a gal. McQueen calls in a favor to a con-woman to date the guy for a couple of weeks to spur the local women’s interest.

One local gal takes an interest to the guy, but by that time the con-woman has already gotten the ugly rich guy to propose to her. McQueen tells the guy about the con, and tells him about the nice gal in town that has taken an interest in him, and will make a good wife, family, home, etc.

The next scene has the wedding bells ringing and the bride covered up. Hoping that the guy made the “right” choice in a woman that could love him. As the guy is riding off he shouts out “I thought it over. I’m marrying her for her beauty, and she’s marrying me for my money!”

That’s been the way for lots of people over the years. And some even go on to write books about it to get even more money.
