The Holy Grail was a pretty good movie and hit on a number of cylinders. I agree on Temple of Doom and Crystal Skulls, could have been much better.

Compared to the other two, the Holy Grail was the best of the three, but it was nowhere near the quality of the first. The first was hitting on all cylinders.

Also, just like in the Original Star Wars, Harrison Ford gunned down an adversary in cold blood and without hesitation. In other words, he was sensible.

Actually the story is that in that scene originally Ford was supposed to fight that guy but Ford was recovering from the Flu or a Bad Cold and was took weak to film the scene as written. So they cut the fight scene and had him shoot him instead.

I love that scene.
The story behind it was they had done about 20 takes of this complicated fight scene between Indy with bullwhip, and the sword guy. Ford was tired, sweaty and hot. As a joke, after the guy does all his sword play watch Ford’s face. Definitely an “awww screw it moment”.
