Is this the thread where people who don’t understand football argue that the only reason Tebow isn’t an NFL starter is because he’s an outspoken Christian?

Tebow being an "outspoken Christian" has nothing to do with his not being in the NFL.

Kurt Warner (St Louis Rams / Arizona Cardinals) was a self identified Christian who won a Superbowl while with the Rams and frequently credited God with all the opportunities he was given in the NFL during interviews, etc..

So the whole argument by Tebow supporters is bunk, and I say that as a baptized into Christ in 1999 Christian.

Now, Tebow's over-zealous fan base which appeared at every stadium he played in and created distraction after distraction after distraction for the team he was on, that's another story. What NFL team wanted to put up with the circus Tebow's supporters created? Probably none.

Hopefully his fans have learned the lesson and will leave Tebow alone. Let him play, let his stats speak for themselves for better or worse.

You got a point there. No NFL team wants fan(atics)going to the stadiums yelling in the stands, buying tickets, buying T-shirts, arguing about players, plays, and tactics. Next thing the fans will be talking sports at the water cooler at work, posting about the team on Facebook, tweeting, buying advertisers products, reading sports columns and then making comments. No NFL franchise wants that kind of attention from the public. That's why you never see NFL advertising or promotional gimmicks. They don't want the publicity.

Yeah didn't the NFL overlook Kurt Warner in the draft and the poor guy had to fight it out in Arena Football before anyone would take him seriously?

Which is the point totally. Why did Warner have to do that? Why didn't a team pick him up and develop him? Why should these guys get shafted by the NFL when lesser quarterbacks are given chance after chance. Lucky for Warner that the hard work paid off in droves.

...

Not all Tebow supporters. Some like me have been pointing out that he’s not as bad as some people believe.

I think Tebow could have improved a lot of teams as a starting QB, since he was traded by Denver. The problem is he doesn’t fit the systems of modern NFL teams, and the best Tebow doesn’t show up until the fourth quarter of a close game.
