Sorta wish we could trade places; I LOVE stormy weather, and the more lightning the better. For my part, as much an inconvenience as it is for you, there are millions of Californians who’d VERY much like to see Lake Mead full, again.

You might think that’d just be the Angelinos, but it’s Californians all over the State who understand the implications of the drought. L.A. metro is Blue-heavy, and has big friends in Sacramento. ANYTHING L.A. may need to do to get the water they need is going to go through Sacramento, and turn into a Dem-driven bond initiative so as to make the WHOLE State pay through the nose to slake L.A.’s thirst.

First, they sucked the Owens Valley dry all the way upstream to Mono Lake. They stuck their Democrat-backed drinking straw all the way out to the Colorado River. And they bamboozled the entire State into paying for the construction of the inaptly-named “California Aqueduct” the sole function of which is to give water to L.A.

That’s how the L.A. “tail” wags the California “dog,” and that is why nothing is going to change with California’s water “problem” unless the rest of California gets their back up, turns of the spigot, and tells L.A. to SOD OFF and use THEIR OWN money to pay for a regional solution to their water problem; to fund and build their OWN desalination plants.

Never happen, of course; that’d be the route to sanity.

Nevadans, especially in southern Nevada, are sick and tired of the bathtub ring around Lake Mead, and resent the fact that California (LA) is taking everything away from us. Because of the Lake levels, we have to ration OUR water, while we watch Angelinos suck it up their stupid water-hungry straws.

If I lived anywhere in CA, I would be pressing everyone and anyone foe desalinization plants. They ARE the answer, and if CA wants to go Green that’s a way to help.
