The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.

We have some canned pineapple. Maybe I’ll have some later.

It's good. Notes from the Nerd:
- Installs good. Nice and clean. Make sure your anti-virus is up to date and that your patches are up as well. If not, Installer may ask you to remove them.
- If you are on a Domain, contact your Administrator or it may not install.
- Make sure you are updating Version for Version. Win 7 32 to Win 10 32. Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro. Etc...
- If the automated/reservation install doesn't work, go out to the MS Win 10 download site and just drop it down from there. Still installs ok...
- Laptop users... There is a bug in the Power widget in the lower right taskbar by the clock. It'll show connected power, but then tell you it isn't charging. This has been observed by me on three different laptops. A new Macbook Pro, an HP Probook, and a newer Dell. It DOES in fact charge, but the indicator is wrong and your power/performance settings may need some tweaking.
- A LOT of things are different. From the Program menu to the Control Panel, to the look and feel. However, it also comes with a TON of improvements and runs like a top so far. Everything seems to pop open faster, seems a lot more crsip, and I haven't had any issues so far. Games run good, Office suite runs good, no browser issues, etc... SO FAR.
- I tested the Win 10 Dev edition on a VM, and wasn't that impressed. Running on bare metal though? Looks like MS is keeping up with their trend of every other OS being a "good" OS.
- When all else fails... BACK UP YOUR FILES. Just... do it. Trust me... There's no coming back from a botched OS install. I've done 4 so far, with good results. One took a bit of tweaking to get the update rolling, but nothing bad once that hurdle is cleared.
So... There's my run down. If you aren't happy with Win 7, or were unlucky enough to wind up with 8/8.1, make the jump. I think you'll like it...

I buy the little cups of individual servings and use half with each cocktail. I tried the juice, and I tried the small cans but found that I was throwing out more than I was eating. The cups are much easier to deal with, and they keep until I need them again.
I like pineapple! I even eat pineapple yogurt.
It looks like I need to go have a breathing treatment; with the humidity up, the next few days are going to be ugly. My right ankle hasn’t quit hurting for four or five days. Taking so much Ibuprofen for it has exacerbated the ulcer. No wonder I hurts so bad.

Okers.
What about the automatic updater?
Any word on getting it to behave?
Or wait on that until you’ve observed it and then beaten it into submission?

You can try this:
Windows 10 Failed to Install Or...
You can cut through the BS and just download an installer from HERE.
Found another minor annoyance. The autohide on the taskbar gets stuck in the "up" position some times.

Very interesting Nevada facts!
In an hour, one of my friends is coming over to do laundry because her washer is broken, and her teenage son will supervise the young Offspring while I go out for some personal time with the RX-7.

*UGH!*
Currently using Win7 Ultimate 64.
In the past few months, Microsoft has gotten very vague with the update descriptions.
And on many of the ones listed as “optional” for my version, the description doesn’t tell you diddly.
For all you know, it’s supposed to dispense snowcones.

That’s all very encouraging. Do you do any software development? Do the IDEs work OK?
But if I can’t tell it whether or not to download something I’m not jumping in. They can even put the special downloads in a special window that says, “Warning, if you don’t install these key patches Microsoft will drop you faster than the Obama Administration dropping a U.S. Ally.” But I still have to have the option.

Good. Been keeping busy.
How’s the brood? :-)

No “Ultimate” version of Win 10 that I am aware of. Should be able to grab the Win 10 Pro 64 though.
To: ArGee
Not on Windows. Most of the stuff I do is just scripting. I’m a Net Admin, so... Not a lot of call to write my own apps...

Noisy and/or weird. Several have been gone most of the summer, but everyone will be home tomorrow. The extra space was nice while it lasted.
How is your family? Still got snow?

Snow finally melted a few weeks back. Should be getting more here in a few more weeks... ;-)

I understand some people like snow.
Time to see if my classic sports car will start.
