Flaming Hawk With Snake in Its Talons Sparks Fire Near La Jolla
NBC Bay Area ^ | Tuesday, Jun 9, 2015 | R. Stickney

Posted on 06/09/2015 5:58:35 PM PDT by nickcarraway

The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line

A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.

San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.

Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.

Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.

Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.

"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.

There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.

This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.

We have a couple of collections of the War Poets. We’ve had some readings, especially around Armistice Day.

All of those ceramic poppies where purchased by members of the public from all around the country and mailed out after the event.

I also changed my ebook by adding a 4,000 word prologue!

Which I posted on the blog too.

As the day goes on, I feel worse and worse; I did get my prescription and the Ibuprofen, thanks, but now all I want to do is go to bed and sleep.

I’ve had a rash the last couple of days (CFIDS) and it has been on my back and I can’t find my back scratcher.

My stomach has been pretty upset and I don’t understand that (probably more CFIDS). I’ll sit here quietly for a while and maybe get a few more paragraphs of the Will done. Or not.

I think I want my mother to make me some Cream O’ Wheat and some toast and cocoa...

My mother tried to get me to eat toast in milk once. I got better.

I’ve cleaned the boys’ room and started on their laundry. Pat and James are back; no word from Tom yet. Maybe I’ll get the other boys’ wash done before he gets home. If not, he gets bumped to the front of the line because he’s leaving again tomorrow!

My mother did that...poured hot milk over toast in a flat bowl, then sprinkled the toast with cinnamon and sugar. Marvelous cure! But I have no bread.

Maybe if I lie down for a bit, I will feel better. Maybe.

I just woke up, and yes, the whole thing is CFIDS. Again. I’m just trying to do too much, with too much stress from too many sources.

For a while, I was feeling pretty good, all things considered, and the remission was going well. Then May came along.

And it would seem since then, I have been trying to run away from it all. It’s not working. It’s making me sick, as I knew it would, in my heart of hearts, but the pain was too much to bear. So I don’t know what I’m going to do now.

I guess I will just let it overtake me for the duration.

Heavy lift transport. C130 most likely .
Nothing to worry about.

I'm thinking that in 586 BC it probably would have been... ;-)

I would say you should try not to do as many things. Of course, when you’re not doing anything, then you have to try to find something to do with yourself!

I should stay home and stay down, but I have two medical appointments in the next two weeks, I still have laundry to finish, an appointment Tuesday about a new aide with a new company, the truck to re-register, the Will to finish, a start on the Living Trust...

Frankly, I don’t see how I can stop and let it all go. So I have to push myself until it’s done. There is no one else who can do it for me.

The CFIDS patterns are obvious, now. I should have seen them, but I was lulled into a sense of false security. *help me, i’m drowning*

Maybe a list showing one accomplishment per day would help give you a feeling of control. Personally, I love a feeling of control.

The last load of byos’ laundry is in the washer, and Tom isn’t here with his yet.

Don't know about that Nully..

It doesn't say that I can connect my 1571 to it...

;-)

One of these days I need to dig out my old C= stuff, hook it up, and see if it still functions.. Been a while since I've seen "38911 Basic Bytes Free"..

Unfortuntely, one “accomplishment” a day is too much. Because of the severity of the and amount of the symptoms, I have to allow at least two days between things, and possibly three days.

All the more reason for making up a calendar.

The nausea is horrible and I want to go back to sleep. I have to take my pills, and that means I have to eat something. It’s so hard to cook, now. Especially with the nausea.

Ungh. I sound like a whiner... Can I just run away, now?

One every other day then. You can try to run, but we know where you live.
