The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.
I don’t feel like I have the stamina, either.

My step-sister in AZ wants me to check the prices on Allegiant Airlines to see if I can find something cheap so I can go to her mother’s birthday party, Saturday. As if.

I have a brother who used to do that for us two girls whenever the need made it mandatory. Our mother would give him .50 cents and send him down the hill.
Of course, it was only 50 years later that we found out he was a PRE-vert.... So that probally ‘splains it all...
I just got some papers filed, and really need that banker’s box if I am to get the rest of the stuff put away. I hate when this happens...
They won’t be any cheaper at Staples, but it is the closest office supply store, so that’s where I will have to go when they open at 0900. I REALLY need to get this stuff done and out of the way, in case I get a new aide.
They seem to be intimidated by papers. Maybe they don’t know how to file...
I suppose nobody has thought about how girls with “two dads” are supposed to get help with all of this, including just getting used to the idea.

You noticed that, huh?? ;-) I used to ask Beautiful Daughter what color the box/wrapper was. About the time I got used to picking the correct item by sight, they changed the packaging. Now I ask for not only the color but the magic wording on the package. I'm waiting for the manufacturer to choose other descriptive words to further the confusion soon... ;-)

Well yes, but Mrs. NoC was usually with me so she could pick out the proper item(s), and/or correct/approve if I picked up the wrong/right one before said item was delivered to the recipient. Now doth Mrs. NoC and beautiful Daughter think a list is a viable substitute for their presence...

Done that too. While complaining loudly that her purse didn't match my shoes... ;-)
And just in case anyone should need the following bit of wisdom, be aware that menopause and puberty should NOT be existing under the same roof simultaneously. Should that prove to be unavoidable, I recommend building a man-cave for yourself, preferably out in the North 40 somewhere away from the house and hiding there for the duration... ;-)
