The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.
Kinda of stealthy in those parts I hear. ;>)
Or to more accurately relflect what she was actually thinking:
What’s your point?
I’m fine, never had two bad days in my life, so I’m good.
Just relaxing. Dreaming. Listening to a few books on tape.
That sounds about right. No wonder you worked up a sweat! LOL!
I agree that talking should be about accomplishing something, but that has its place in end-of-day conversations, too. Not everything has to be about work at that time. Mostly it’s nice to know there is someone to give you feedback.
I miss that.
Reid isn’t going to run again (I think he was warned off when the treadmill beat him up) so it will be up the the gubs of NV and AZ to stop the water flowing to CA. But I don’t know of anyone, this early in the century, who would have the intestinal fortitude to tell CA to sit down and draft plans for desalinization plants.
Hang in there baby, Friday’s coming!
Meow. Floofy meow.
Your daughter is much more polite than I am. I would have said “gay rights is a non-issue, now, so what do you really want?” But that’s just me.
At least she was sensible, which a lot of people aren’t.
Floof alert above.
I saved that so I could send it to my son, who buys, restores and sells VW’s for fun and profit. It keeps him out of bars and off the streets! ;o])
He manages to keep himself busy with his day job and his two side jobs: restoring VW’s and repairing lawn equipment, when he isn’t actually doing yard maintenance.
Awww...what an odd variety of grapes those are...
Throat wounds are the most common in cats AND dogs. It could have been a coyote, or it could have been a large dog who doesn’t like cats.
I hope he heals quickly. But I doubt if it will stop him from going out...
Way, way, way back, when they started making the VW based dune buggies I really wanted one. Came the dawn and I realized the DC metro area wouldn’t offer much chance for fun. So I found a 10 year old classic Jag roadster. That was fun when I wasn’t waiting months for parts.
I always wanted a bug like Herbie.
I can’t drive a stick.
That is rather accurate.
It’s a very accurate portrayal. of how they see us.
They were minions when minions weren’t cool.
Feedback???
I’ve been married almost 34 years now.
I got feedback to beat the band.
Most of it just to make my life better, you know.
(Don’t get me wrong. I love my wife. But you’d think after all this time she’d figure that I’m as good as I’m gonna get.)
