It’s true that Siamese cats are very fun loving and adventurous, they also have a reputation for being very chatty.

Well that was extremely annoying. Memo to self, never get a siamese cat or one of their relatives.

I had a Persian mix that did this. He always seemed to think the shower was a danger and he was hell bent on warning me. He lived to be 20. I really miss that guy, shower antics not withstanding.

I saw a web site awhile back that showed many breeds of dogs and how breeders had altered the breed.

My Old English bulldog is an attempt to return to the original breed. She hasn’t had near the health problems the breed is known for.

They look like adolescents. Our big guy looked just like that until his last growth spurt when he turned dark gray. He was almost pure white other than ear and nose as a kitten. He has also gotten massive.

Kinda pointless without shots inside the shower.

Be very careful what you ask for, Helen Thomas may be in there!

The breeders did that to their heads. They don’t look like the ones I had as a child either. I’ve had a couple since then, lost all their teeth because there’s no room for them with such wedge heads. Now that’s in the breeding, sad to say. The old style apple heads are making a comeback, I have one now, rescued from the SPCA of all places.

I’ve had both - Apple\Wedge head. I think the Wedge is the more hilarious of the two, but I love ‘em both.

My cat hated that video. :)

I’m betting the cats don’t want a shower, they want food, and their human isn’t serving them quickly enough.

Having been the owner of 8 of them, I agree.

Is he neutered? Neutered males tend to get huge.

Oh yeah, had to neuter him. We laughed as he was growing, he was developing a monstrous pair. We did not need a tomcat on our hands as he was always slated to be an indoor cat.

He dearly loves his food now and it is a struggle to keep his weight down. I am sure he is bored.

Good to know at least some folks are trying to go back to the old standards of the breeds. They really messed up a lot of animals over the years. Why can’t people leave well enough alone? The originals were much more attractive than the ‘manufactured’ animals of today, and healthier.

Adorable kitties! I dearly miss the two Siamese cats we had. From the video it’s unclear whether the woman enjoys the serenade or not. I’m guessing that she had recently acquired her Siamese only shortly before making the video.

If she doesn’t care for all the attention she could shut the door while showering or better, train them. Siamese, in my opinion are the most intelligent cats. I think they are also closest to pet dogs in personality and in their willingness to please their humans. I trained mine to fetch, to walk with and without a leash and to ‘speak’ or meow on command. When I took in a stray declawed mixed breed tom cat, he began imitating both cats in speaking on command, fetching and waiting to come running until I called out his name.

Getting sad thinking about our cats. I have delayed getting another since the last one passed away at age 18 1/2 years several years ago. He was such a good cat.

I noticed the cats seem to star fighting among themselves.

I had a half-Siamese black cat and he was smart, he opened up cabinets and everything. I also had a diluted calico that did the same thing. His name was Buddha, aka “Boo,” that my friend named him. He was brave too, everytime there was a thunderstorm, he would meow in a low, low pitch to the sky in a daring mood. In 1998 when we had a tornado warning and a tornado hit Mt. Washington overlooking Pittsburgh, he did the same thing to the swirling clouds. I told him that basically “daring God to kill you, like LT. Dan from Forrest Gump, isn’t smart, because you almost died from liver failure twice.” HE had liver failure twice but in both cases, the liver “turned back on to normal.” He was doglike as well as the Burmese Cat we had.

Bored maybe, but indoor cats live 3 to 4 times longer than outdoor cats.

Looked to me like the smaller one was trying to get the big one to shut up.

He gets brief outings now he is older but is smart enough to know where the limits of exploring are. His favorite lookout:

When he was not much bigger than this we had to stop his outside trips with us as he got so rambunctious jumping and climbing:
