I think it is simply called clearing the record against the wrong things that have been written about them.

I would never put my family on a reality TV show.
Under no circumstances would I advise anyone to talk to the media.
There is never anything to gain by talking to the media.
That was a redacted police report and it never was sealed by a judge.
If the Duggers wanted the records sealed, all they had to do was go to the District Attorney and tell the DA the entire story and then, when in a court if law, testify to what Josh did to his sisters bad then be cross examined.
If the Duggars had done that, the juvenile records would have been sealed.
That being the case, it is obvious that the Duggars did not want the records sealed.

Believe what you like. I personally, think it is simply ridiculous to believe that he went into a tiny little bedroom with multiple occupants, felt them up...and no one awakened. But again...feel free to ignore common sense.
Similarly, I do not believe that he told his parents until he was confronted after one or more of the girls told them.
But, IMO they made up a story at the time, so they now have to stick to it no matter how stupid it sounds to people who live in the real world.
