Cauthen could really ride. Great great jockey at that time.

I once saw him win 7 races at Aqueduct. Never got to meet him while working at Belmont in the 70s.

that was a tough cold winter that year at Aqueduct.....it seemed like Cauthen was winning 4-5 races almost everyday. What a year he had.
