I remember a trip to “The Monkey Jungle” when I was young in Miami. There was a sign at the chimp exhibit which said, “Throw chimps a peanut and they will clap for you”. When you did, all they’d do in return was fart and throw their feces back at the crowd.

Maybe that’s intelligence of some sort.
