We would say “exhaust” and, sometimes, we CAN see aircraft clearly by their exhaust or contrails.
White sandy beaches.......
Nøt to mentiøn the løveli lakes, and the majestic møøse...
“What do we have to attract them to us?” Short answer, the Promises of God the Creator of the whole shebang. Long answer, these are aliens only in the sense that they are not occupants of our 4D spacetime and are using cloned biological units to interact here from their ‘other’ dimensional reality which is right here and has been right here since the beginning. not
To further elaborate, unless the aliens have a magical energy source (zero point energy for example) any energy source will have IR output and, since enormous energy is required, there will be a very large IR output.
But, if the aliens have a magical energy source, then they probably have a magical FTL stardrive, too, and then, no, we won’t see them coming.
Most likely the aliens would have to have that magical energy source and a matching stardrive. Otherwise travel between stars is not possible:
That waste energy is why you see in the IR spike. Right now, our understanding of physics doesn’t allow a power source without the waste heat. That is why it would be “magic” energy source.
Inertia arises because of the zero point filed. Find a way to shield from or divert the zp field and speed is no longer hampered by the inertial restraints.
zero point filed should be zero point FIELD.
I’m guessing that I know different Marines than you know. Just a hunch...
Just because "They traveled really far, really fast and made it here", doesn't require them to be super intelligent as a necessity. I would suggest the folks that built their craft and navigation and life support would be very intelligent but not necessarily smarter than humans. And certainly those doing the traveling wouldn't need extraordinary intelligence.
Today's aircraft basically fly themselves.
There was a time when driving an automobile long distances required you having a mechanic along. Now cars are driving themselves.
At some point the technology would become so ubiquitous that any moron could use it.

Doesn’t matter how tough they are - once they run out of ammo, they have short, not very ergonomic, spears and armor that isn’t very effective against blades, bludgeons or arrows.
Unless they made friends (marines are pretty good at that...), it will be over very quickly and very messily - esp. if they ran into Mongols.
Lol. I know how to make explosives from piss, feces, and ####. And I’m not a Marine.
They are trained to adapt. They’re very good at it. And they have an extra millennia of knowledge.
Seriously, it would not even be a contest.
And with respect to the current discussion, you don’t think alien invaders would understand the concept of supply lines?
