I think they just went back as far as the Civil War, but it was good. I liked "Where Eagles Dare" also. Of course, I liked Mission Batangas with John Wayne. I have lots of friends in Batangas. I liked the Great Raid with Ben Bratt and James Franco, in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, as my uncle died on the Bataan death march, prior to their arrival at Camp Cabanatuan and Camp O'Donnel. My honey listened to the Filipno actors speak Tagalog, to see if their language was actually germaine to the movie, or just gibberish. She said everything they said was actually related to the movie. Maybe they figured they would have Filipinos watching, who would be listening to the language, so they figured they better do it right, and they did.
I should have said The Great Raid. One of my sister-in-law’s grandfathers took to the forest and was a guerilla through the war on Luzon. My brother said he still had his rifle hanging on pegs above his bedroom door with which he capped off several Japanese soldiers.
