Jason Kelce – “Tim (Tebow) would be very tough to stop in short yardage”

Eagles Pro Bowl center Jason Kelce was just on the 94WIP Morning Show and he told Angelo Cataldi he made some comments about the Eagles quarterbacks.

On Sam Bradford – “I’ve worked with Sam out there on the field. He’s still limited in what he can do, but he looks great with what he does.”

“Sam can throw the football very well down the field.”

On Tim Tebow – “Tebow has looked pretty good in OTA’s especially with the read option plays. It’s hard to know what Chip is going to do at quarterback because each of them does their own things very well.”

“Tim would be very tough to stop in short yardage.”

On the Eagles offensive line – “It’s very important that I get some work with the guards and we get the chance to figure out who the starting five are going to be”.

When guys (Todd Herremans) you have played next to for a long time leave, I think you have a little more of a sentimental reaction from guys who have been playing next to you longer, but guys who are in and out it’s not as big of a deal. That’s just the way the business goes. At one point

LeSean McCoy – “It’s going to be weird without him around because he’s very boisterous.”

“Mathis wants more money, but the team feels they got him for a fair price. It will be up to Evan Mathis whether he will play this year or not.”

That's why a LOT of people are saying the new extra point after touchdown rules as the Tim Tebow Rule.

I’ve always thought Tebow would be best used as a tailback or a slot back. It presents numerous options and would keep the defense guessing from play to play. Put him in motion in a shotgun formation and it would be hilarious to see a defense try to keep up with that.

I would love to see Tim triumph this season. Especially in Philly, the home of Rocky, the quintessential underdog that never gives up.

It appears to me the haters are starting to hedge their bets. If Tebow makes the team and contributes (something the haters said could never happen) the explanation will be the NFL changed the rules to create an opportunity for someone that didn't deserve an opportunity.

There are a few genuine Tebow haters - but many more who simply note that he has not in the past been an NFL-caliber passer. I think two-point specialist plays to his strengths and I hope he succeeds there (and has a chance to demonstrate his reportedly improved timing and mechanics as a passer).

The last time Tebow made a team was with the Jets. He was 6 of 8 passing that year. I never understood why he wasn't used more.

When he was with Denver, his winning percentage was above average.

Some fans (not speaking of you) seem to think there are more important things in football than winning.

The Eagles won’t have a lot of short yardage situations to worry about anyway. ;’)
