I love how the headline makes it seem like they were shot because they had tried to steal beer, while the second paragraph alleges they were shot because they were assaulting the officer with a skateboard.

This is getting old.
In close quarters, fists can kill. (Easily if the person knows what he or she is doing.) A skateboard wielded as a club can kill even more easily.
“Unarmerd”? In close quarters, NOBODY who has training or “street skills” is ever truly unarmed.

The Safeway store in question is about three blocks from where I'm sitting here in west Olympia; do about 80% of my grocery shopping there. Things are fairly low-key here.
As long as both of the perps survive, and that seems to be a strong possibility, the Al Sharlaton crowd will probably stay away. We can hope.
