Michele Benson is a car person.
Cars, she said, have a bit of a soul and need to be respected.
So in 2007, when someone stole her 1976 Porsche 914 out of her driveway in Santa Cruz, it was akin to losing a loved one.
But eight years after the car was pilfered, she received a notice: A dealership in the central valley town of Oakdale had her car.
"It's a love story," said Benson, an entertainment photographer. "The car was definitely looking for me and somehow she found me."

You know why there are wars in Europe? The Germans and French can’t even agree on the gender for the moon. Whatever its faults, at least English isn’t burdened with gender.
In the South San Mateo or North Santa Cruz Mountains was a mountain bike trail called 914, because the trail itself went through a 914 that had left the road and went down into the steep ravine/canyon.
The roof had been cut off the extract the body, so you just rode in one door and out the other.
This in my opinion is the best use for a 914.
Any locals know if the trail is still there? Memories of my yoot.
The 2002 of that era (or a bit later) was actually sweet.
